Attendance is the foundation of a meaningful school experience. Without it, students miss out on learning and community connection. But our goal goes beyond improving attendance rates—we want every student to enjoy school and feel deeply engaged.

Schools and districts across the state are using innovative approaches:

  • Baker Middle School (Tacoma SD) tracks attendance and engagement while partnering with community resources to meet diverse student needs.
  • Taholah School District leverages strong community bonds and introduced the "GOAT Rubric" to motivate and reward students.

These efforts are making a difference. Over the past two years, attendance and reengagement initiatives have shown remarkable results.
