Mentor Extended Learning

Mentor Extended Learnings are focused trainings designed to build on learning from Mentor Academy 101. These learnings include: Using Instructional Frameworks in Observation and Feedback, Mentoring ESAs, and Mentoring Teachers of Special Education.

Note: Participation in Mentor Academy 101 or NAKIA Academy is the prerequisite for participation in any other BEST event.  BEST will continue to provide most events online until further notice.

Using Instructional Frameworks in Observation & Feedback

Using Instructional Frameworks in Observation and Feedback focuses on mentor/mentee observation cycles using instructional frameworks as a third point. Participants will learn to use the Principles of Practice and Mind the Gap tools to guide their observations and feedback.

Mentoring ESAs focuses on mentoring School Counselors, Psychologists, Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Speech Language Pathologists, Audiologists, Librarians, and other Education Staff Associates with role-specific and general mentoring lenses.
