Community partnerships make a difference in students’ lives. Building Bridges Community-based Organization Grants help fund youth-serving organizations partnering with schools across Washington state. On this page, you’ll learn more about the grant's goals, how to apply, and this year’s grantees.
Building Bridges Grant applications are now closed.
- Targeted at organizations that serve youth, this grant is intended to strengthen support for students to keep them on track to graduate from high school.
- The goal of the grant is to provide ongoing support to community-based organizations who serve youth that are closing equity gaps.
- A Building Bridges Program means a local partnership of schools, families, and communities that provides all of the following programs or activities:
- A system that identifies individual students struggling in middle through high school based on local predictive data and provides timely interventions for such students and for students who are no longer attending. Students identified include foster care youth, youth involved in the juvenile justice system, and students receiving special education services.
- Providing coaches or mentors for students
- Providing staff responsible for coordination of community partners that provide a seamless continuum of academic and non-academic support in schools and communities
- Provides reentry activities or opportunity to retrieve credits
- Provides alternative educational programming, including, but not limited to, career and technical education exploratory and preparatory programs and online learning opportunities.
