The Office of Professional Practices has the legal authority to investigate certificated educators for alleged unprofessional conduct and concerns about good moral character or personal fitness. The office also reviews certification applications when there are questions about an applicant’s character, fitness, or criminal history.
The Office of Professional Practices does not have the authority to investigate allegations of misconduct by school board members or school employees who are not certificated.
