K-12 mathematics requires more than memorization of facts and formulas. It calls for students to be able to understand mathematical reasoning, to use multiple methods while developing number sense, and to develop a variety of problem-solving strategies. All of this occurs within a growth mindset that builds on the belief that all students are able to achieve in mathematics and find joy in its application.

Math Nation through Accelerate Learning

The state legislature approved funding for a math tutoring program available to students across the state and Math Nation was recently awarded the contract to facilitate the legislated request.

Math Nation-Washington is now available at no cost to all Washington public schools, State-Tribal Education Compact Schools (STECs) and districts, thanks to a partnership between Accelerate Learning and the state of Washington. The online learning resources, which fully cover Washington's Mathematics K–12 Learning Standards, are funded by OSPI. Included in the partnership is free digital access to Math Nation resources for 6th–8th grade Math, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, and ACT/SAT prep, as well as 24/7 access to virtual math tutoring. Students, teachers, and families can log in to Math Nation from the web, tablets, and smartphones 24-hours a day. In addition, implementation training is available for Washington schools and districts.

Math Nation Resources

Please note that schools, State-Tribal Education Compact Schools (STECs), and districts need to use the Accelerate Learning contact page to facilitate access to Math Nation resources.

OSPI is working with Accelerate Learning to facilitate a data sharing agreement for all districts that want to use Math Nation.
