Child Nutrition Program sponsors are reimbursed for eligible meals and snacks. Claims are processed by OSPI Child Nutrition Services and filed electronically in the Washington Integrated Nutrition System (WINS) monthly.
The School Meal Programs include the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), School Breakfast Program (SBP), Seamless Summer Option (SSO), and Afterschool Snack Program (ASP). These programs promote the health and well-being of children by providing nutritious meals to children. Reimbursement rates include the annual adjustment for food costs required by law and a temporary increase of $0.40 cents per school lunch and $0.15 per school breakfast served for SY 22-23 as authorized by Congress in the Keep Kids Fed Act. This rate increase will help programs address continuing challenges, including rising food costs and supply chain issues.
Visit the OSPI Child Nutrition Services NSLP webpage and the School Breakfast Program webpage for more information about these programs.
