Supply Chain Assistance Funding
Child Nutrition Program sponsors are reimbursed for eligible meals and snacks. Claims are processed by OSPI Child Nutrition Services and filed electronically in the Washington Integrated Nutrition System (WINS) monthly.
Beginning in November 2024, claims data must be entered in WINS by 2:00 pm on the 15th of each month to be processed and paid by the end of the month. All claims that are in “OK to process status” will process for payment in the same month.

The School Meal Programs include the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), School Breakfast Program (SBP), Seamless Summer Option (SSO), and Afterschool Snack Program (ASP). These programs promote the health and well-being of children by providing nutritious meals to children.

Claim Information
Reimbursement Rates
Reimbursement rates are set by USDA annually during the month of July and depend on the type of institution participating.
- Centers' reimbursement for meals is based on family income eligibility.
- Homeless shelters and at-risk centers are reimbursed at the free rate.
- Family Day Care Homes sponsors are reimbursed on a two-tier fund structure using criteria such as location of the day care home, the income of the day care home provider, and the income of the individual child's household.

The Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) provides all enrolled students in participating elementary schools with a variety of free fresh fruits and vegetables throughout the school day—separate from the lunch or breakfast meal in one or more areas of the school. - Food Distribution Program (FDP)

National School Lunch Program (NSLP), Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), and Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) sponsors are eligible to receive USDA Foods. The USDA allocates funds (entitlement) to OSPI which is then allocated to sponsoring organizations. Child Nutrition Program sponsors may then use these funds to spend on USDA Foods. Entitlement Rates for July 1, 2023–June 30, 2024
- NSLP Per Meal Rate: $0.3650 per lunch
- CACFP Cash In Lieu (CIL) Rate: $0.2950 per meal
- SFSP Per Meal Rate: Child Nutrition Services calculates rates in early spring and will directly communicate with sponsors when finalized.
