Harvest of the Season is a comprehensive initiative to support USDA Child Nutrition Program operators incorporate foods from Washington in the kitchen, classrooms, and at home. Funded by a USDA Farm to School Grant, the Harvest of the Season toolkits include nutrition facts, recipe ideas, activities, videos and more, allowing Child Nutrition Programs the flexibility to feature what works for them.
This initiative was completed with generous support from our partner planning group.
What's In Season
This infographic highlights the seasonality of 24 local foods featured in the Harvest of the Season initiative, a comprehensive set of resources to help incorporate local food in Child Nutrition Programs. There is a wide selection of items available throughout the year from Washington farmers, ranchers, and fishers.
