Each community has unique needs and ambitions for their public schools, and local levies are a valuable way for voters to support their local schools beyond the basics that the state Legislature funds.
Washington state historically has a high levy passage rate. A total of 283 districts, or 96% of all districts, in Washington state are operating with an active levy in the 2026 calendar year.
Below is an interactive map and a table of summary statistics that display levy status data for the 2026 calendar year. The green areas of the map indicate districts where levies will be active, cream where levies are not utilized, and red where levies failed. Hover over a district to see greater detail, including the school district name, legislative district(s) the school district is located in, and the district’s levy status for the 2026 calendar year. The hover-over text also includes relevant fiscal information—FTE enrollment for the 2025–26 school year, estimated total local levy funding for the 2026 calendar year, and estimated local levy funding per FTE student for the 2026 calendar year.
Please note that the purpose of this map is to inform the public of school funding mechanisms in school districts around the state. The values used in this map are estimates and are not intended to be used by district staff to determine allocations or budgets.
The Puget Sound is not seen in these maps, because Washington school districts’ legal boundaries are drawn over the Puget Sound.
