The proposed learning standards are still under review. The draft documents and public comments are available to view to ensure transparency through the revision process. The draft standards shared for public comment were revised based on the feedback. The recommended best practice is that districts hold off on evaluating content alignment until the revised learning standards are initially adopted at the state level. Once the standards are adopted, we will update this message accordingly.
OSPI has developed drafts of the revised learning standards documents for ELA, mathematics, and science to include updates to content, provide clarity in the language, and include prioritized standards.
Drafts of the learning standards for ELA, mathematics, and science were available for public comment from August 16 through September 27. For more information, please view Bulletin 053-24: Open Public Comment for Learning Standards Revisions.
