Requirements
-
Submission of fingerprints for a background check, if not already on record
The CTE Conditional certificate is issued for two school years or less and is initiated by the district. The two year conditional CTE certificate enables a school district, which cannot find a regularly certificated CTE instructor in a specific area, to hire someone who is highly qualified and experienced in that area. The certificate is subject to specific limitations and the teacher must complete a written training plan developed in coordination with the CTE administrator and the CTE advisory committee. WAC 181-77-014
If the applicant needs Worksite Learning or Career Choices or a combination of both, the applicant must be enrolled in a CTE program and has already completed the Worksite Learning coursework. (Form 4075W, Form 4075G-1, Form 4075E-1)
Reissuance/Renewal of CTE Conditional Certificates
During the two year validity, the applicant must complete 50 clock hours or equivalency (credits, PGP's) verified by the district in order to gain a CTE Conditional reissuance/renewal.
The district must initiate the request in E-Certification.
If using PGP's, the applicant must enter the PGP's in their E-Certification account under Professional Development hours or "PD Hours".
For PGP information and resources, please visit the Professional Educator Standards Board.
