Dual Credit Graduation Pathway

The Dual Credit graduation pathway is a separate option from Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), Cambridge Program exams. More information about those graduation pathways are available on OSPI's ACT / SAT / AP / IB Exams webpage.

Dual Credit Course Criteria for Graduation Pathway

To be considered "dual credit" and meet the graduation pathway requirement, a course must satisfy the following criteria:

Running Start, CTE Dual Credit, or College in High School courses

• It generates 1.0 high school credit toward graduation.
• It is a 100 level or higher college-level course
• It counts as a high school "English" or "Mathematics" course and has the appropriate state course code.
• It has the appropriate CEDARS Counse Designation Code (R=Running Start, T=CTE Dual Credit, or C=College in High School)

"Passage" of a dual credit course requires that the student earn high school credit for the course, as identified on the student's high school transcript.

AP, IB, and Cambridge courses

• C+ grade earned in each term of the state-approved course
• It has the appropriate CEDARS Course Designation Code (A= Advanced Placement, I = International Baccalaureate, or K = Cambridge Program)
