EdTech Assessment Reporting Verification

The reporting requirement (RCW 28A.655.075 and RCW 28A.230.095) for educational technology classroom-based assessments administered in the elementary, middle, and high school grades is no longer a separate survey out to districts. To meet the legislative requirement, district reporting on these assessments is now included in the annual OSPI Educational Technology Survey that is sent to district-designated Technology Directors. We encourage Technology Directors to discuss these educational technology classroom-based assessment questions with Teaching and Learning staff before submitting responses. Please note: The OSPI 2024–25 Educational Technology Survey has been sent to your district’s designated Technology Director for completion, with a due date of May 15, 2025.

Collect & Report Data

  1. Collect responses for each of the four questions and share the responses with your district’s designated Technology Director.
  2. A confirmation of submission will be sent to your district’s designated Technology Director. 2024–25 EdTech Classroom-Based Assessments: Verification Report Questions
  3. All assessment reporting for the 2024–25 school year must be submitted by May 15, 2025.

Recommendations & Resources

OSPI recommends districts use the OSPI-developed assessments in the Arts, Educational Technology, Health and Physical Education, and Social Studies to meet the requirements of RCW 28A.230.095 and RCW 28A.655.075. If local assessments or other strategies are used to meet the requirements, it is strongly recommended they are reviewed for quality and alignment to state standards, based on research, and able to measure individual student achievement. In addition, school districts are encouraged to develop policies and procedures that support the implementation of assessments in these areas, as well as the collection, use, and retention of assessment data.
