Sheri is a special education paraeducator who discovered her passion for helping students with special needs when her young son was struggling with a significant speech delay. As a volunteer in his developmental preschool, she started to learn instructional strategies to teach and motivate students with different learning needs. With encouragement and support from her friends, family, and coworkers, Sheri recently completed her Master's degree in Elementary Education. She began the next chapter in her career this fall as a kindergarten teacher.
Sheri says, “A perfect day at work would be seeing one of my students have an "a-ha" moment. Those are the best! When a student struggles with a concept or skill but decides to stick with it, asks questions, and keeps practicing until they make that pivotal connection to their learning. It is very exciting to be a part of and so powerful for that student!”
