Step 3: Education Day-at-a-Glance

Jacob is using a three-wheeled green bike out in the school soccer field. He is smiling and looking to the side at his peers who are running along by his side. A teacher is standing behind Jacob’s bike, adjusting his head rest. Jacob’s electric wheelchair is off to the side while he is biking.

With the inclusive IEP completed, the IEP team plans and communicates when and where the goals, specially designed instruction (SDI), related services (RS), and supplementary aids and services (SAS) will be implemented across the day. WAC 392-172A-03105 requires teams to share information about IEP implementation responsibilities with educators and other school staff in a timely manner. To streamline this, teams can follow Step 3 by developing an Education Day-at-a-Glance. This document also communicates with families how a student’s IEP goals and supports are woven throughout the school day in general education.
