Nadine began working as a paraeducator nearly 20 years ago. In 2016, she moved to Olympia and started working at Thurgood Marshall Middle School. She has been a building wide paraeducator, assistant soccer and wrestling coach, and served on the Equity Team. She is currently the Restorative Room Supervisor. Nadine believes in preserving the dignity and uplifting the voice of all students. She continues to grow in the profession through trainings; teaching staff about restorative practices; helping streamline access to the Restorative Center; and supporting students as they work through their own challenges.
Nadine says, “The most important part of my job is loving, supporting, and teaching students to find ways to self-regulate, and to learn lifelong coping strategies. My hope is to supply them with problem solving skills that will accompany them through life.”
