Title: Orange You Glad I Painted This
Medium: Ink & Watercolor
Dimensions: 5.25" x 5"
Inspiration: In my piece, I wanted to push my knowledge of watercolor. I attempted to include as many watercolor techniques as possible, even ones I am less comfortable with. In the composition I included elements of art, such as space, value, form, and texture. Watercolor can be difficult to make appear even partly realistic, and it was challenge.

Title: Drowning in Ideas
Medium: Mixed Media
Dimensions: 20" x 18"
Inspiration: This piece is called drowning in ideas. I had so many ideas for what I wanted my art to be. Sitting in bed contemplating all the things I haven't done, what I need to do for the future, and what I could be doing now. It feels like you are drowning. I wanted the piece to resemble it. The glowing orange fish symbolize the ideas and thoughts that spiral around you. It contrasts with the blue background that resembles the darkness of feeling stuck. Being surrounded by so many ideas you don't know how to start.
Artist's Name: Isabella Pinto
Title: Emotionless
Medium: Alcohol-Based Marker
Inspiration: “Emotionless” is a piece that combines markers and gel pens to create a locked mechanical heart buried in flowers. It focuses on my struggle to control my emotions. The mechanical design represents my analytical mind and how I do not allow my heart to rule my head but have my mind rule my heart. There is a great deal of symbolism in “Emotionless” to emphasize my battle of thinking versus feeling.
Artist's Name: Jamie Bazile
Title: Pawn
Medium: Photography
Dimensions: 4000p x 5000p
Inspiration: I originally took two photos, one of a chess board and one of me sitting down on flat ground. I then used Photoshop to edit myself in the one empty space on the chess board and to add the corresponding shadows/reflection as if I was actually there.
Artist's Name: Jazmine Littlewolf
Title: Tranquility
Medium: Photography
Dimensions: 8" x 11"
Inspiration: I took this photo visiting my ohana (family). It reflects my happiness I feel with them. I just like taking pictures in places that make me happy.
Artist's Name: Jessica Hedahl
Title: Candlelight
Medium: Acrylic Paint on Canvas
Dimensions: 16" x 20 "
Inspiration: This is the largest painting I've ever painted. I spent over 25 hours painting it for my final project in Painting. The textures I used in this piece make it an interesting and engaging piece to look at, and the textures of the book and the reflections on the silver were my favorite parts to paint! This painting helped develop my style as I learned that I adore adding different textures into a painting to create a unique style and signature look!
Artist's Name: Jesus Ramos Contreras
Title: Glassy Glow
Medium: Acrylic Paint
Dimensions: 12" x 13"
Inspiration: We used to have these portraits that we hung on our walls when we were younger. One day my sister decided to redecorate the whole house so then they were gone. I decided to make a painting of them to commemorate them. I learned how to paint shadows and paint realism. My main take from it was the shine the vases had and their ominous dark background.
Artist's Name: Johanna Galica
Title: Miss Universe
Medium: Graphite
Dimensions: 14" x 14"
Inspiration: My inspiration was a variety of other art pieces. The meaning behind it came to me as I drew it. It represents how she might not be happy with what is happening with our world at the moment.
Artist's Name: Josaphine Nguyen
Title: Girlhood
Medium: Digital Painting
Dimensions: 1602p x 3021 p
Inspiration: A digital painting of two flapper girls in the 1920s sitting in a dressing room. One woman seems to be crying while the other woman is comforting her with a hand on her shoulder. When creating this artwork, I was inspired by flapper girls in the 1920s after doing a school project about the Roaring 20s. I like to think about the idea of girls supporting girls, even in the past. I created this artwork in Procreate using 30 layers and 16058 strokes. For my references, I used a bunch of pictures of 1920 flapper girls in their dresses.

Title: The Claw
Medium: Clay & Glaze
Dimensions: 3" x 2" x 2.5"
Inspiration: I am from Wenatchee High.
Artist's Name: Katherine Bertschy
Title: The Matrix of the Heart
Medium: Photography
Dimensions: 7" x 5"
Inspiration: “Ideas; the Matrix of the Heart” was like a happy accident while I was simply taking photos for my class. And it was meant to be a joke originally as I simply went outside and laydown on the ground for 1 and a half minutes. As for the name, it was a play on the quote “memes, the DNA of the soul” as a nod to how when the photo was put together side by side it looked like a heart; a joke coming together to form a heart.
Artist's Name: Katie Conn
Title: Massacre at School
Medium: Charcoal
Inspiration: My work of art is a way to bring awareness to the reality of the fear each student faces every day. I hope to encourage people to think deeply about how many massacres students and our peers have experienced. My goal as an artist is to start a conversation about what a massacre like this does to the world and school system.
Artist's Name: Kimberly Strong
Title: Denim Debut
Medium: Oil Pastel
Dimensions: 27"x18"
Inspiration: “Denim Debut” is an oil pastel drawing inspired by the impressionism art style. I used many different colors to convey a bright and energetic feel to the city. The main focus of this piece is the mysterious lady walking down the sidewalk of New York City. I sought to bring the viewer into the scene by evoking a sense of spontaneity and capturing the movement of her debut in the city.
Artist's Name: Kyla Sproul
Title: Picture of Darian Gray
Medium: Acrylic Paint
Dimensions: 48" x 24"
Inspiration: The artwork, "The Picture of Darian Gray" was inspired both by a book and a friend named Darian. In the book, "The Picture of Dorian Gray", a man is painted and stays young forever, whilst the painting's subject grows old. This piece, inspired by the book's painting, depicts my friend almost coming to life, stretching out of the canvas. Using real fabric and beads, I made the piece 3D to demonstrate the life the painting holds, and the soul within it.
Artist's Name: Lana Saopraseuth
Title: Onward
Medium: Digital Art
Dimensions: 10" x 12"
Inspiration: I explored how to portray life's change and uncertainty through surrealism, nostalgia, and the moon. Using astrophotography, I created dream-like images that showed why change is scary. The moon served as a metaphor for dreams, change, and uncertainty because of how little we know about the moon, it also symbolizes what we may not know in life: uncertainty.
Artist's Name: Laura Wang
Title: Family Portrait
Medium: Pencil, Charcoal
Dimensions: 15.5"x 19"
Inspiration: My piece is a personal portrait of me, my father, and my brother. Because of the tightly detailed nature of the photo reference I worked from, I chose to use graphite for this portrait so that I could preserve the minutiae of this moment: the way my dad holds me and my brother close to his chest, the love in our eyes as we gaze at our mother behind the camera, and the bright, dapped atmosphere of a California summer. As a primarily self-taught artist, graphite has always been my media of choice. It’s forgiving, down to earth, and readily available. I see aspects of myself and my family in this medium—the painstaking effort that my parents put into me and my brother and the unconditional dependability that my family offers me reflect the painstaking yet consistent way that my pencil behaves on the paper.
This piece is both a labor of love and a representation of my perspective on family. I see art as a love language, so in creating this piece, I hoped that the time and effort I spent on each detail would show my family my gratitude for the time they had dedicated to me. At the same time, I chose to stick with realism because I’ve always seen my family as grounded in reality. We aren’t super flamboyant, nor do we strive to be aesthetically unique--rather, we value hard work and perseverance, and we say what we mean how we mean it. My piece is here to say, “this is my family, preserved in authentic form, and I love them for exactly the way they are.”

Title: Lights Out
Medium: Digital Art
Dimensions: 11.25" x 11.75"
Inspiration: “Lights Out” is a self portrait made digitally on procreate, focusing on emotion of expression and strategical use of lighting. Inspired by my personal experience of the need to preform to be more childlike, my piece conveys a sense of innocence and a childlike wonder. Lights out uses strong studio lighting to create an almost stage like atmosphere, conveying the performance that is my life.
Artist's Name: Lauren Popp
Title: Glass Webs
Medium: Clay Ceramics
Dimensions: 1.5 x 7.5 x 7.5
Inspiration: This project had one guideline, to create radial symmetry on our plates. I was immediately drawn to the webs of a spider. Spiders are often seen as vile and scary, but this piece brought a new perspective to the creature. The graffito design reveals the beauty and intricacy of the creature, challenging common perceptions and bringing deeper connections between my art and nature.
Artist's Name: Leilani Cherry
Title: Tuesday 7:23 AM
Medium: Graphite
Dimensions: 12" x 9"
Inspiration: I was trying to capture the mysterious and ominous nature of strangers.
Artist's Name: Lena Olsen
Title: Garden of Love
Medium: Alcohol-Based Marker
Dimensions: 15" X 11"
Inspiration: The point I wanted to make through this piece is that - who you love, or who you choose to be with, or what your identity is, it’s your choice and freedom and no one can take that away from you.
Artist's Name: Leslie Badillo
Title: Up Close and Personal
Medium: Colored Pencil
Dimensions: 13" x 14"
Inspiration: I wanted to capture a daily routine, detailed and colorful, and showing movement. The viewpoint of me brushing my teeth helped to make my piece come alive in a colorful and almost humorous way. I hope that people viewing my art can find the fun through color and a different viewpoint of daily life.
Artist's Name: Lexi Ann Vargas
Title: Recycled Ocean
Medium: Mixed Media (paint)
Dimensions: 42" x 27"
Inspiration: “Recycled Ocean” is a mixed media painting of a Pacific Loggerhead Turtle swimming in a coral reef clearing. My hope is that this has a positive impact on viewers. I like to address a topic I'm passionate about, bringing awareness to how human consumption affects our planet and its inhabitants. The canvas is made of plastic bottle caps placed on a sheet of plexiglass, to encourage people to recycle.
Artist's Name: Lily Grace Cavanaugh
Title: Obsession
Medium: Gouache Painting
Dimensions: 22" x 30 "
Inspiration: My art piece is about obsession, and how it can affect someone's life I used the example of man obsession with music. the men in the background represent society beauty standard for men of being fit but keeping that image they become bones, as you look at the man, he is looking down to show how he does not see the world around him the abstract background and swirly blue shows false reality. the record player that you can flip through represents life and how he feels. the jester is how he feels like a joke, the tomatoes lady throwing tomatoes at canvas represents how gives part of himself in his work and the card with the chess piece represents how he feels like he's in a game he can't win. the back side of the flip book with the white swirls represent the records on records player.
Artist's Name: Logan Le
Title: Space Needle
Medium: Digital Photography
Dimensions: 4000 x 6000
Inspiration: My creative process when taking this photograph was mainly trying to find a unique way to frame my subject.
